About the service

Our nurse health check MOTs are available for any pet (cat, dog, rabbit etc). Our nurse will check your pet over for any signs of problems, checking eyes, ears, coat etc. This is aimed at giving owners piece of mind, and is especially popular with owners of puppies, kittens or rehomed animals.

For clients with more exotic species, such as Bearded Dragons or Parrots, our nurse can check enclosures, lighting and temperatures are optimal for health and happiness of your pet.

NOTE: This service is available for free with any other service, but is also available on its own should you require some piece of mind and advice.

Is it a nurse or a vet who performs the checks?

This would be a consultation with a highly experienced and fully qualified veterinary nurse. If the nurse discovers anything serious, or has any concerns, they will recommend a visit to a veterinary practice. These consultations are focused on preventative healthcare, and how you can minimise vet visits in the longer term.

My pet is sick, would you recommend this service?

If your pet is unwell & undiagnosed then it is recommended that you book an appointment to see a veterinary surgeon. However, we do have some pets who have recently had surgery or are undergoing prescribed medical treatment already, and often like a home visit from an experienced nurse to give an extra level of safety and reassurance. Out of hours emergencies can be seen by Petmedics or VetsNow hospitals.
