Many pets can be microchipped, including cats, dogs and rabbits. It's a legal requirement to have any dog over the age of eight weeks microchipped and to keep your details up-to-date.
Thousands of pets are lost every year and many are never reunited with their owners - microchipping is one way we can help change that!
Collars and tags can get caught or removed - microchipping identifies your pet permanently and effectively. Microchipping your pet gives them the best chance of being identified and returned to you if they ever become lost or stolen.

I also provide a scanning service and assistance with changing microchip details over where needed.
How do I change my pet's microchip details?
Your pets microchip details are held on a national database - Tracer, which can be found online. You will need to know your pet’s microchip number - if you don't know this then drop me a message to arrange an appointment to scan your pet or you can do this at your local veterinary practice.
Do I need to have my pet microchipped?
It is now law in the UK to have your dog microchipped and in 2023 it will also be law to have your cat microchipped. Microchipping is the best way to ensure the return of your pet.
